Switched at Birth
I got sucked into this show pretty quickly. Wow, culture is complicated. Class is complicated. People are complicated. Deaf culture has unique qualities but seems similar to other cultures that want to be understood, want some respect, and don't want false assumptions to prevail. This show keeps you guessing, thinking, and questioning, partly because the personalities are such mixed bags. They each have their unique set of qualities, issues, angels, and demons. I found myself thinking things like 'You entitled little brat'...then later thinking, 'That was sweet of you'. The show made me reflect about my own attitudes and also theirs.
